Astaxanthin Oil is a powerful quencher of singlet oxygen. Natural astaxanthin is more effective than canthaxanthin, beta-carotene, and zeaxanthin in preventing the peroxidation of unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters. The antioxidant activity of astaxanthin is 550 times that of vitamin E and 10 times that of carotenoids such as beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, lutein, and canthaxanthin.
