Preparation Methods
Screening and optimization of natural strains
Construction of strain library: Collect more than 3,000 strains of natural microorganisms to establish a dedicated strain resource library.
High-throughput screening technology: Using microfluidic chip technology, an average of 500 strains are screened per day, and finally locked in Blakeslea trispora HSF-Bt07, whose β-carotene synthesis capacity is 3 times that of wild strains.
Adaptive evolution technology (ALE): Through long-term stress culture (such as high osmotic pressure and low temperature), the strain's stress resistance is enhanced, and there is no yield attenuation after 20 generations of continuous fermentation, and the stability reaches 99%.
Fully enclosed intelligent fermentation system: fermentation technology + intelligent equipment dual engine, the final solution to the problem of light-oxygen sensitivity
Light-proof and oxygen-controlled design: double-layer stainless steel fermentation tanks are used, with anti-ultraviolet coating on the outside and nitrogen covering system integrated inside, and the dissolved oxygen content is controlled at DO≤3% (industry average 8%) throughout the process.
Dynamic control technology:
Real-time monitoring: embedded sensors collect 12 parameters such as pH, temperature, and bacterial density every 10 seconds;
Intelligent feeding: based on machine learning algorithms, accurately predict the carbon-nitrogen ratio (C/N) requirements, automatically adjust the feeding rate, and increase the bacterial density to 65g DCW/L (traditional process 40g DCW/L).
Two-stage fermentation strategy:
High-density proliferation period: optimize the culture medium formula, and the biomass increases by 300% within 48 hours;
High-efficiency hormone production period: trigger metabolic bursts through gradient temperature increase, and the β-carotene production reaches 10g/L, which optimizes the fermentation cycle to the greatest extent.
Extraction technology: balance between green process and high purity
Low-temperature and high-efficiency extraction: selectively extract β-carotene under mild conditions of 35℃ and 0.6MPa to avoid high temperature damage to the isomer structure.
Multi-stage separation and purification:
Primary separation: recover the solvent by reduced pressure evaporation, with a recycling rate of 98%;
Zero chemical addition: no strong acid, strong base or heavy metal catalyst is used throughout the process, in line with EU EC 1333/2008 food additive safety standards.
Full-process quality control system: 18 potential impurities are detected by HPLC-MS, and the entire production process data is traced and queried.
Thousand-ton intelligent production line: a breakthrough in large-scale production

Relying on the "science-technology-industrialization" research and development innovation system, HSF uses microfluidic chip technology to lock in Blakeslea trispora HSF-Bt07 among more than 3,000 natural microorganisms and strengthens the strain's stress resistance through long-term stress culture (such as high osmotic pressure and low temperature). It has achieved 20 consecutive fermentations without yield attenuation and a stability of 99%.
In order to solve the problem that traditional beta-carotene oil-soluble products are difficult to disperse and easy to degrade, HSF launched water-soluble β-carotene powder and nanoemulsion based on VegeLipi® microencapsulation technology, and provides customized dosage forms (tablets, soft capsules, beverage additives) according to customer needs.
