【WHAT ARE PHYTOSTEROLS?】
Soy Sterol, or plant sterols, are isolated from unsaponifiables of vegetable oils. They are structurally related to cholesterol, but differ from cholesterol in the structure of the side chai【SOURCE】
Vegetable oils, such as soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, or tall oil.

In 1999, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been approved that the foods added phytosterol and phytosterol ester can use "healthful" labels.
In 2010,plant phytosterols and phytosterol esters were allowed to be added to food as new resource foods (Food safety comprehensive coordination and Health Supervision Bureau of the Ministry of health of People's Republic of China, 2010 Third New Resources Food Bulletin).
